Late 17th Century Italian Rapier Master Class

DESCRIPTION: This class will focus on the later 17th century rapier of Francesco Antonio Marcelli (Regole Della Scherma, 1686) with additional material from Alessandro Senese (Il Vero Maneggio Di Spada, 1660).  We will cover concepts of tempo and measure, as well as specific techniques and the tactical circumstances under which these techniques were used.  We will also note some of the differences between these and the earlier styles of Fabris, Capoferro and Giganti.  This is a full-contact rapier class.  Bring standard rapier kit (mask, jacket, breeches/knickers, gloves, Darkwood/Del Tin or similar rapier), a bottle of water to drink and a towel to wipe off the sweat.
