Fundamental Principles of Sidesword

DESCRIPTION:

This class will cover the fundamental principles of sidesword.  The class will make an overview of the various systems of combat, including the Bolognese schools (i.e. Marozzo, Viggiani, etc) and such masters as Agrippa and di Grassi. The students will learn the essential attacks of the time period and also the methods of movement.

Students will be required to bring standard fencing gear including a sidesword simulator.

A rapier may be used but is not optimal.
