DESCRIPTION:
This class is an introduction to Angelo's methods. We will cover the guard positions and the five positions of the wrist for offence and defense. In order to develop the principle attitudes and positions the students will work on methods to "render the fencer active and firm on his legs." Students should be prepared for a full contact class. Masks, jackets, groin protectors, gloves for both hands, chest protectors for women and plastrons, which are strongly recommended. Students are required to bring their own practice smallswords, French or Italian foils are also acceptable, the French foil being the preferred type. |
