DESCRIPTION:
This class will be a detailed study of the molinelli of the Northern Italian School. These essential circular blade oscillations are vital to the handling and manipulation of the weapon. The importance of mastering this particular technique cannot be emphasized enough because without them the fencer can achieve no precision in directing his edge and point. This class will focus on the molinelli in minute detail and will cover the physics, timing and velocity of the molinelli in all its variety. The students will learn how to manipulate the saber with delicacy and precision and to avoid resorting to brutal clubbing actions based solely on muscular strength. Students must come prepared with jackets, masks, groin protectors for men, breast protection for women, and saber glove. Sabers should be of the Radaelli, Pecoraro, or a solid shell type. Blades should be of the S2000 type or equivalent. Heavy Military sabers are not appropriate for this class. |
