Reasonably Practicing Saviolo

ROOM: GVT Gymnasium

INSTRUCTOR: Cecil Longino

DESCRIPTION:

Given the brevity of this class, we will limit our focus to critically dissecting the foundational theoretical elements of Saviolo's fight and apply this theory to 4 actions and counter actions. Each action will be performed according to the constant and unchanging true foundation of fence: The use of distance, time, proportion, angulation, conservation, and unity.

This class should provide the student with a reasonable frame of reference to further dissect additional plays found in Saviolo's treatise. The theory and concepts covered will also serve as valuable tools in improving the student's training regimen.

Focus Points:
- Grounds of fence
- Movements (straight, angular, circular)
- Distances (executing an action in its proper distance & time)
- 2 wards at single sword
- Proportion & unity of action

Requirements: mask, jacket, gloves, sword/rapier, reason
