Joachim Meyer's Rappier:
Applying the German Mindset to a Non-German Weapon
INSTRUCTOR: Stefan Dieke

ROOM: Baldwin/Perry
DESCRIPTION:

Joachim Meyer, who wrote his 'Freifechter' in Strasbourg, combined the typical Liechtenauer approach of the longsword with the methods he learned when travelling through 'foreign countries' for the Rappier.

Please keep in mind that Meyer's treatise was published in 1570 so we will be dealing with a cut & thrust system.
