International Swordfighting and Martial Arts Convention
Tim Ruzicki Seattle Pugilism Club
began studying swordplay as a stage-combatant, and now holds his
actor-combatant certification with the Society of American Fight
Several years ago, while working in Edinburgh, Scotland, Tim stumbled across the Dawn Duellists Society and its somewhat mad president, Paul Macdonald. Upon learning that this group of nutters studied and practiced historical technique, Tim immediately threw himself into the fray, and has not wised up since.
After returning to the States, Tim and his friend Jared Kirby founded the New Dawn Duellists Society in Minneapolis, MN.
Tim Ruzicki is a leading authority on classical European pugilism and has been training in boxing for over fifteen years, and historic forms of Western Martial Arts for the past ten. In the last several years he has made the switch to studying, training, and teaching bare-knuckle pugilism, gathering information from eighteenth and nineteenth century manuals devoted to the art. Tim has been teaching for several years now in a variety of historic western weapons and unarmed styles.
Currently, he instructs the Seattle Pugilist Club in Seattle, WA, USA.
Tim brings an Open Class in Practical Pugilism, as well as his voice in Fundamental Principles of Measure and The Inn Play: Sir Thomas Parkyns' Method of Cornish Hug-Wrestling, Boxing & Small Sword to the 2006 ISMAC workshop.
