Foundations & Principles of Fiore dei Liberi’s Arming Sword

DESCRIPTION:

Fiore's "Sword in one hand"

We will include:

Offensive and defensive positions
Principles of footwork and motion
Principles of cutting and thrusting
Principles of defence and countering
Principles of entering and sword taking

We will finish with an overview of Liberi's plays of the sword in one hand.
All of the material is based on AEMMA's interpretation of Fiore's work

Participants must bring a steel or aluminium one handed "Arming" sword or a longsword of dimensions such that it may be comfortably used one handed. Gloves and a fencing mask are recommended.
