This class will cover the fundamental principles that apply to rapier. 
 
The Italian and Spanish systems will be compared and contrasted in order to show how the principles work within each system. The class will cover:
 
Parts of the rapier
Manner of holding the weapon
Hand positions
Timing, distance, and proportion
Guardias, Afirmarse
Footwork,
Simple attacks
Parries, Desvios
Guadagnare, Stringere, Atajo, and Ganado los grados-Ganancia
Cavatione
Counter offensive actions
