DESCRIPTION:
In fencing time is literally of the essence. This class will focus solely on the offensive usage of tempo in Capo Ferro’s theory. We will examine the crucial element of time through placement, manipulation and utilization. We will begin by looking at the three methods of striking in tempo which are: • while you are firm and they are moving, • while they are firm and you are moving, or • while you are both moving. Participants will then practice some examples given in Gran Simulacro… Through these practical exercises you will learn to sense the correct tempo to strike the adversary. This is an advanced class for individuals who are working through Gran Simulacro… Participants are required to know and be able to perform Capo Ferro’s Guardia and Passo Straordinario. Students must come prepared with jackets, masks, gloves, groin protectors for men, breast protection for women, and a rapier. |
