Intro to Giganti's Rapier
INSTRUCTORS: Gary Chelak

ROOM: TBA
DESCRIPTION:

An introduction or refresher for Nicoletto Giganti's 1606 Scola...

This course provides a view into what makes Nicoletto Giganti's rapier system stand out from that of his contemporaries. Treatment of the guards & counterguards, the use of constraint, and the preference for feints will be discussed. Class actions from the text will support these topics.

We will be making thrusts against each other - please bring a practice rapier/spada, gloves, 12k mask, protection for the upper torso/arms, notepad & pen/pencil. Throat protection highly suggested.
