Combat Biomechanics in Paschen's Wrestling
INSTRUCTOR: Tony Wolf

ROOM: TBA
DESCRIPTION:

This intensive seminar is a practical exploration of Johann Georg Paschen's unarmed combat system, as presented in his Vollstandiges Ring-Buch (1659).

Paschen applied the standard divisions of blade leverage (strong, half-strong and weak) to the human body. In this class we will examine his methods of connecting the body's various leverage centers; of applying strong pressure to the opponent's weak points to capture his balance and control his movement, augmented by a range of effective striking techniques. Phase one is to apply these skills to specific techniques in pre-set drills and phase two applies them in improvised sparring drills.
