INSTRUCTOR:Maestro Ramon Martinez

DESCRIPTION: In this class Maestro Ramon Martinez will introduce the concepts of Spanish Small Sword.  This style is a mixed school, combining, Spanish, Italian, and French theory.  It will be made clear to the students how the foundations that Carranza laid down at the end of the 16th century were still in use in the beginning of the 19th century. The construction, dimensions and blade type of the Spanish Small Sword will be thoroughly discussed. If a student does not have a Spanish Small Sword, he may use an Italian foil.

The class will consist of full contact drills; therefore proper safety equipment is required. Students must bring their own weapons.  They must have gloves for both hands, masks, jackets, breast protectors for women, and rigid groin cups for men.
