International Swordfighting & Martial Arts Convention - 2009
The Brad Waller Scholarship |

| Purpose: | ||
|
To
provide a scholarship to a deserving student of Stage Combat
who is studying Western Martial
Arts in an effort to augment their art, and is planning on attending the International Swordfighting and Martial Arts Convention (hereafter referred to
as ISMAC) in 2009. The 2008 Brad Waller Scholarship has
already been awarded.

| Award Components: | ||
|
This
scholarship will include:
1. One (1) registration fee to ISMAC. 2. One (1) master class fee at ISMAC. 3. A one hundred dollar ($100) travel/hotel reimbursement. |

| Criteria: | ||
|
1. Applicant must
not have attended the International Swordfighting and Martial
Arts Convention in any prior year.
2. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate financial need. 3. Applicant can not be a member of the Art of Combat, inc. or The New Dawn Duellists Society. 4. Applicant can not be a relative, spouse, or child of a member of the Art of Combat inc. or The New Dawn Duellists Society. |

| Application Process (Applicant must submit): | ||
|
1. Completed typed
application form (handwritten and/or incomplete applications
will not be processed).
2. Two (2) letters of recommendation. a) One (1) letter must be from your current instructor in Stage Combat. b) The other letter must be a personal reference attesting to your character and personal code of honor with at least two (2) examples of how you live up to this code. This letter can not be from a relative. It should be from a person of authority and responsibility which could include, but is not limited to, a Western Martial Arts instructor, professor, dean, doctor, lawyer, or church official. |

| Deadline for application is March 15, 2009. Applications postmarked after this date will not be considered. | ||

Once
your application has been received, you will be sent an email
notification within a week to confirm the receipt of your
application. If you have not heard from us in that time,
please email John at the address above. ISMAC, Art
of Combat inc., and New Dawn Duellists Society are
NOT responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged applications.
The decision will be made by April 15th 2009. |
