ROOM: TBA
INSTRUCTOR: Pete Kautz
DESCRIPTION:
Can you draw a knife from
concealment and employ it in 1.5 seconds or less? At the end of this class you will be able to! (Some students have done even better!)
Do you know the 2 basic
moral, ethical, and legal reasons to draw a knife (or any weapon) in personal
defense? After this class, you will. (You’ll also learn the 4 legal grounds
of personal defense – ability, opportunity, preclusion, and imminent jeopardy –
and be able to explain what they mean.
If you don’t know these, you
should!)
In
the Drawpoint method, you will learn how to wear a knife invisibly, draw it
with blinding speed, and employ it for personal defense within the legal
framework of today’s society.
Lethal and less-than-lethal options are explored for each drill and
technique.
The
training is broken down into an interactive lecture / demo segment followed by
a series of progressive physical development exercises and training
scenarios. This introductory class
will cover all the material that forms the first level of the Drawpoint method.
Requirements: Bring a small, safe
plastic, wood, or aluminum training knife for this class. Bring two if you like. Safe training knives will be available
for you to purchase. Eye
protection and a set of focus mitts are helpful, but not mandatory.
