Fundamentals Principles of Unarmed Combat

DESCRIPTION:

This class will examine the foundational theory on which Western unarmed fighting is based.
Concepts such as range, lines of attack and defense, body mechanics, and the physics of force and objects in motion will be explored. The course will focus on two primary methods of unarmed combat, the first being striking arts and the second being grappling and wrestling arts.
Practical application will be presented for all theoretical material covered, and students will be exposed to several systems in the cannon of Western unarmed combat.
