The Nature of Defense in Italian Rapier Play

Rapier Masters have always emphasized the importance of defense in your offense.  These classes will concentrate on the importance of a solid defense, which is prerequisite for the attack.  You will learn the importance of the postures, the necessity of the guards and how incorrect movement can destroy your defense.  We will also cover the defensive positionings of the sword and how these must be maintained in every action during the interplay of rapier fencing.
